Photonics Research Group
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, University of Kurdistan
About the group
The Photonics Research Group, led by Prof. Mohammad Razaghi, studies photonic and optoelectronic devices: how they work, how to model them accurately, and how to design them for optical communication, signal processing and sensing. The group's work is mainly numerical and theoretical and is complemented by process development in the Microfabrication Lab.
Research themes
Semiconductor lasers and optical amplifiers, including quantum-dot devices
Wavelength conversion and all-optical logic gates
Silicon photonics device modeling
Photonic crystals, nanocavities and Fano resonances
Terahertz metamaterial sensors
